"As we first stepped on the beach we were greeted with a large sign with a big bold NO which announced all the things which could not be done on the beach." As a licensed Social Worker (LCSW) my wife, Archana-Siddhi, has to take classes in her counseling field and accumulate 40 CEUs of credit every 2 years. If possible she tries to get them all at once. To achieve that purpose we are staying on the Island of Hilton Head South Carolina. While Archana attends the conference, I cook lunch, and...

The saying that it, "Takes two to tango" is a very old American expression. It is a dance from my parents' era. So I am saying it takes two to dance, which also may be dated, but you catch my drift. (It is more fun to do the "Swami step" in kirtana with more people than to do line dancing or to be thrown around in the mosh pit.) Sat, 12/01/2007 - 12:39 — NityānandaChandra Recently I went on a family trip to my place of birth, Honolulu HI. It was there that I first learned about the service of Lord Sri Krishna. This all auspicious activity, Devotional Service, is brought to everyone by means of association. We find this wonderful statement in the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita. Madhya 22.54 'sadhu-sanga', 'sadhu-sanga' -- sarva-sastre kaya lava-matra sadhu-sange sarva-siddhi haya TRANSLATION "The verdict of all...

I changed the title of the blog from "Relationships are the key to success, spiritually or materially", because I didn't say what I originally intended. That happens often when I write. Certainly who we "associate" with is a person we have a relationship with. Yet in this blog I have focused on the general principle of the importance of the company we keep. In another blog I will focus more on HOW we relate to each other. It is said that, "A person is known by the company they keep". That is...
