Join our family of volunteers worldwide who tirelessly work on improving Krishna.com as an offering of love. Experience the bliss of devotional service to Krishna by spreading His glories on the Internet. Volunteer your time, talents, skills and abilities in His service, seva.

Chances are, if you can read and browse the web, you have enough skills to engage in service at Krishna.com. And you probably have many other skills. Download our Volunteer Engagement Form, as a generic RTF file for any word processor, or as plain text file. Fill it out, and email it back to us (see instructions on the form). Or, contact us and we’ll send you the form in an email.

There is so much we can do together to spread the glories of Krishna on the Internet. So many ways to engage our mind and senses in His service. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see a volunteer position below that fits you.   • Transcribe

    Time required: A few minutes per week, a few hours, as you are able.

      Skills required:
      • Reasonably good typing skills (at least 40 wpm)
      • Good command of the English language
      • Familiarity with common Sanskrit terms
      • Duties and responsibilities:

        • Watch and listen to Krishna.com videos.
        • Transcribe what you hear in a word processing program.
        • Send the transcription to us as an email attachment.

    1. Live Webcast Schedule Manager

      Time required: A few minutes per week.

    2. Duties and responsibilities:

      • Create and maintain a comprehensive schedule of live events on Krishna.com.
      • Work with our programmer to create a page that automatically transforms GMT times entered in our master schedule to the local times for the visitor, based on a time-zone selection pop-up menu.
    3. Assistant Housekeeper for Forums and Profiles

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Help us keep an eye on the forum and profiles sections which are expanding rapidly.
      • Send us an email when you find inappropriate content or behavior.
      • And, let us know if you find exceptionally good content or behavior, if someone is doing really well, or if someone really needs a helping hand.
      • Let us know if you find exceptional writers. Should we ask them to start a blog?
    4. Research Krishna Conscious Videos

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Search for interesting Krishna conscious videos on
        YouTube.com, video.google.com, Gouranga.tv, and other places, that would inspire people new to Krishna consciousness.

      Think of non-devotee relatives or friends as your target audience. Would you show them this video? Would it inspire them? Email us URL links to videos that meet the above criteria.

    5. Research Inspiring Krishna Conscious News, Stories, or Articles

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Research news, stories or articles that inspire new people in Krishna consciousness, on Dandavats.com, Chakra.org, news.iskcon.com, and other Krishna centered sites, blogs, or discussion forums.

      Use your non-devotee relatives, co-workers or friends as a target audience. Would this story inspire them? Send us URL links to news, stories or articles that do.

    6. Proofread the Krishna.com Website

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Go through the Krishna.com website systematically and find spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, broken links, links that point to unexpected results…
    7. Enter Recipes in the Krishna.com Food Channel

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Help our food section manager enter recipes from BBT cookbooks to expand this important section of the website.
    8. Update the Directory of Temples

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

    9. Help us verify and update the many temple listings from all over the world in our directory, and add useful visitor-related information. Choose temples in your geographical area to start with.

      • Contact the temples via phone or email. Speak with the temple president or guest-relations manager.
      • Go over the contact information listed in the directory and update all the details.
      • Add relevant information: Does the temple have a website? Guest facilities? Sunday feast open-house program schedule? Other guest functions during the week? (Some temples have Wednesday evening guest programs.) Directions to reach the temple by car, as well as by public transportation? Who is the best person for guests to contact? What is their contact information?
    10. Research and Expand the Travel Section

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Research and compile information from bona fide sources
        about the holy places associated with Lord Krishna’s pastimes.
      • Develop pages about each holy place on Krishna.com’s Travel section.
      • Include as much information as you can about each place, such as its history, Lord Krishna’s pastimes that took place there, information relevant for pilgrims and visitors. (How to get there? Where to stay? What to visit?)
    11. Downloads Manager

      Time required: 10 minutes / day (1 hour / week)

      • Review and validate existing downloads in the Krishna.com “Downloads” section.
      • Remove inactive or inappropriate downloads.
      • Actively find appropriate Krishna-related download content to feature, and make Krishna.com Downloads the most relevant place to find download materials on Krishna and Krishna Consciousness on the Internet.

      Training: Will work under the guidance of our volunteer managers to become familiar with copyright issues, and deciding what content is appropriate or inappropriate for the Krishna.com downloads section.

    12. Flash content developer

      Time required: As you are able and inspired.

      • Create Flash animation greeting cards for the Krishna.com gallery, with music embedded.
      • Create other flash-based drops of Krishna nectar for Krishna.com visitors.
    13. Shastra Dana: Distribute Books about Krishna

      Time required: Initial set-up. Approximately one hour per week to re-order and re-stock the book rack(s).

      • Join the Shastra Dana program. It has never been easier to distribute books about Krishna. Others have already donated the cost for the books so they can be distributed on a “donation” basis. All you need to do is:
      • Set up a book rack in an office space or retail location near your daily route to and from work (or even at your work place) and simply maintain the rack. The books distribute themselves.
      • Order books from Shastra Dana in San Diego when you run out of books, and restock your local rack(s). Once you realize how easy this is, you may get so enlivened you’ll want to set up more racks… in retail stores, corner stores, doctor’s offices… anywhere a kind manager will let you display a rack of spiritual books about Krishna, yoga, meditation, reincarnation… Visit the Shastra Dana website for more information.
    14. Volunteer at your nearest temple

      Time required: an hour a week, month, year…or more.
      Description: find the contact information for your nearest Krishna temple via our directory . Some practical services needed at most temples include:

      • cleaning the temple windows, floors, hallways, bathrooms, spider webs, dusting ledges and paintings…
      • gardening, landscaping, including weeding, trimming, planting flowers…
      • kitchen help, such as helping to prepare the vegetables, washing pots, counters, floors…
      • general maintenance, such as painting, fixing dripping faucets, replacing broken light bulbs,worn out door knobs, broken tiles…
      • next time you go grocery shopping at an Indian foods store, purchase some extra for the temple Deities and devotees. Bring commonly needed items such as Basmati rice, ghee (clarified butter), fruit, vegetables, dahl (split yellow or green mung beans), spices like tamarind, hing (asafoetida), saffron…
      • bring fresh cut flowers for the Deities
      • consider giving a monthly donation (tithe) to help the temple with monthly bills, maintenance of the Deities, prasadam (food) distribution…
    15. Create list of Frequently Asked Questions from Live Help Chats

      Time required: A few minutes per week, as you are able.

      • Look through Live Help Chats and find commonly asked questions.
      • Make a list of the frequently asked questions in a Microsoft Word Document.
      • Summarize questions into categories.
    16. Anything Else
