HG Mahatma Prabhu's Tuesday Night Classes

I will be posting the title of His Grace Mahatma Prabhu's Tuesday night classes here. Please watch this space for class information. Hope to see you on live chat!

Tuesday night's class is entitled, "Balancing Attraction and Duty."

How can we remain inspired when we don't always feel naturally attracted to doing our sadhana and service, but sometimes (or often) feel very attracted to material activities? How can we be enlivened when faced with reoccurring attachments that divert us from Krsna? How do we become steady when confronted with obstacles that tend to threaten our devotional creepers? And how can we not be discouraged when dealing with these, and other aspects of our shadow, when we understand that the inspiration - indeed the secret of bhakti - is a natural attraction and taste for service?

Tuesday night we look at these questions and the issues that surround them.

Go to www.krsna.com/live from 8pm to 9pm EST on Tuesday July 31.

Mahatma Prabhu's class for tonight

My dearest devotees,

Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Tonight we continue with the topic of Balancing Taste and Sense Gratification. Two weeks ago we began this topic and we barely scratched the surface.

Below is the class description we sent out two weeks ago for the first class:

What is more important - taste or determination? Or is there some balance between them? Can we go on solely with determination until taste develops? If so, how? Is it wrong to want to gain a taste in Krsna consciousness? Shouldn't we just try to serve Krsna and not ask for anything?

Sastra tells us taste is important. Sastra also tells us determination is important. But can we go on forever without developing a taste for hearing, chanting and serving? And if we are not getting a taste, does it mean we are doing something wrong?

We do see that devotees pray for a taste. What do they mean by "taste" and how do we distinguish taste from material sense gratification?

How do we get a taste? Can we really do anything to get a taste in Krsna consciousness or does it just come as a by-product of advancing in devotional service?

And lastly, what's the difference between material taste and spiritual taste? And how do we distinguish the difference in our own lives? After all, we could be enjoying materially in the name of Krsna consciousness and mistake it for a transcendental taste.

We hope to see you tonight as we explore the answers to these questions.

Please visit www.krsna.com/live from 8pm to 9pm EST on Tuesday September 18th.
